A. GRAMMAR & CONVERSATION COURSE
We analyzed the summer program and prepared a popular 4 level class of <grammar and speaking skills>, as well as a <conversation brush up class>. It is designed to make progress steadfast in an enjoyable atmosphere.
The free talk session with ordinary Japanese guests is held as a final part of the course so that you can feel your progress after the 3-week program

B. JLPT Preparation Course
The JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) Preparation Course is designed for students who are preparing for the JLPT N1 or N2 exam. This course is especially developed for students from countries where kanji, Chinese characters, is not used. In this course,
1) Emphasis is put on reading comprehension, as it is a major component of the JLPT exam.
2) Students are given tests at the end of the course to measure the progress made throughout the course.
3) Each student will have an individual counseling with the teacher and receives advice on how to further improve and successfully pass the JLPT exam.
* The JLPT exam has been revised in 2010. The New JLPT's intent is to measure communicative competence in accomplishment of tasks in real situations. KAI has analyzed all of these new changes and updated the curriculum to reflect the revision. The levels N1 and N2 corresponds to the former Level 1 (1 kyuu) and Level 2 (2 kyuu) respectively.
Students who take this course are expected to also study at home to catch up with everyday lesson.
Course Content
· Vocabulary (a small test given daily), Grammar (a small test given daily), Listening, Reading
* Students will learn the pattern of the questions and will be trained to efficiently extract the relevant information in given texts by fast reading and analysis. Students will also discuss and share the process and the strategy they used to solve the problems.

* Students will learn the reading strategy and will be trained to read starting from shorter texts. In the last week, students will be reading longer texts.
Required level of Japanese
· N1: Students who have learned about 1000 kanji.
· N2: Students who have learned about 500 kanji.
· Students who take this course are expected to understand all the classes taught in Japanese only. Students will be given a telephone interview at the time of application to make sure their level of Japanese will suit the level of the course.

C. Japanese Business Communication

Who teaches this course?
Experienced teachers specialized in business Japanese will be teaching this course. They will be speaking in business language while using original teaching/study materials especially developed for this course. The course content includes:
Knowledge and experience
· Review and clarify the use of keigo.
· Read business documents.
Expressions
· Learn how to reconfirm information you didn’t fully understand.
· Learn how to state your opinions in meetings.
· Write business e-mails.
Manners
· Business manners
· Learn how to respond to complaints
· Give presentations in Japanese
Interpersonal relationship
·Singing karaoke
·Table manner at business dinner
The level of Japanese required for this course
· Those who have already studied the beginner level Japanese. (Approximately 500-600 hours of study history).
· Those who frequently have opportunities to speak Japanese at work and/or on private.
· Those who can read Japanese newspapers more or less if using a dictionary.
· Those who frequently watch Japanese news or other programs on TV.
