勉強したことを忘れないように何度も復習（ふくしゅう）する、学生ならだれにでも経験（けいけん）があると思いますが、実は復習（ふくしゅう）に大切なのは、そのタイミングだそうです。
最（もっと）も効果（こうか）のある時期は次のように言われています。まずその日のうちに１度復習（ふくしゅう）すること。それも寝る前が特に効果（こうか）的だそうです。睡眠（すいみん）をとると頭が整理（せいり）され、記憶（きおく）に残（のこ）りやすくなるからです。その後２度目は翌日（よくじつ）に行（おこな）い、それから１週間後、２週間後、１ヶ月後と少しずつ時間の間隔（かんかく）を広げていくのがいいそうです。

日本では高齢化（こうれいか）社会が進んでおり、特に65歳（さい）以上の人口が増えている。人口の統計調査（とうけいちょうさ）では、65歳以上の人を「高齢者」という言葉で表わすが、世間（せけん）では、それではいかにも「年寄（としよ）り」というイメージが強いという理由で、「シニア（senior）」という呼び方が一般的になってきている。企業もまた、シニア向けの商品開発に力を入れており、市場は広がりを見せているが、一方で、「シニア」というのはいったい何歳からのことを言うのか、その基準（きじゅん）ははっきりしていないようだ。生活者の年齢に対する意識調査によると、「シニア」は60歳前後から、と考える人が最も多かったようだが、同時に、実際の60歳前後の人たちの半数以上は、「シニア」と呼ばれたくないと思っていることも明らかになった。この微妙（びみょう）なズレが、マーケティングを考える上で企業の頭を悩（なや）ませているという。
