A great number of students from across the globe has studied Japanese language at KAI Japanese Language School since its foundation in 1987. Drawing from our wealth of experience, KAI has put together a fun and enriching summer junior program where students can immerse themselves fully in the Japanese language and culture. What’s great about the Program?

Full support

After arriving at Narita or Haneda airport, you will be free from care. Our staff will make arrangements for transportation between accommodations, classrooms and activities. They will stay with you at the same accommodations to provide support and ensure your safety.

Almost all inclusive package

Besides Japanese lessons, the program package includes daily activities (including weekends), accommodations, breakfasts, lunches and dinners, airport transfer and everyday transfer, etc. Please be aware that drinks and personal expenses are not included.

Great experience

Over the 2 – 3 week program, you will learn how to great people and introduce yourself in Japanese, as well as be equipped with the essential skills to hold basic conversations you can use at restaurants and shops. In addition, through our carefully planned activities and your stay in Tokyo, you will learn to appreciate real Japanese culture and society, which we believe will be a great long-lasting experience for you.

Effective Lessons

This program is designed to steadfastly improve your conversation skills in a fun and enjoyable manner. A lot of time is set aside for speaking exercises in each class. You will be amazed at how much Japanese you can speak after a short period of 2 – 3 weeks.

Activities

During the program, you will participate in various kinds of activities to experience both traditional and modern Japanese culture. The activities will be fun and you will be very well-versed in Japan after completing the program. Please refer to our website for more details on the activities.

A package not including accommodations, meals, and evening activities is available but requires a chaperone.
Students must be accompanied by the chaperone at all times to and from school and activities. Please inquire.

  • 9 or 14 days of lessons (materials included)
  • 4 full-day and 9 half-day activities (2-week package) or
    6 full-day and 14 half-day activities (3-week package)
  • Accommodation at Tokyo Central Youth Hostel (dormitory type)
    1 night of homestay (July 19 – 20)
  • All breakfasts, lunches and dinners throughout the program
    (Arrival day: dinner only; Departure Day: breakfast only)
  • Airport transfer from and to Narita/Haneda Airport
    Note: Additional fees may be charged for airport transfers outside designated time specified by the school
  • Transportation between school, accommodations and activities

Enrollment Procedure

All applications are to be made online. Please send us an email (admission@kaij.co.jp ) for more information

We will notify you the URL of the level check test that you need to do by email. You have not learned Japanese before, taking the test is not necessary.

After checking your level, we may decline your application if your Japanese proficiency level is deemed to be pre-intermediate or above (i.e. CEFR: A2 or above).

Please make payment to the school using one of the methods below (see PAYMENT). Your place will only be secured after we confirm your paymen

Application deadline is May 1, 2024

Applications made after the deadline stated above may still be considered. Kindly consult us for the latest status and information. Please note that the school will retain the full amount of fees (i.e. no refund) for cancellations made after the course has started unless the school cancels the program.

Payment

Paying from OUTSIDE Japan

  1. Bank Transfer
    Please make sure to bear all the bank commissions when you remit the amount. Consult your bank for details.
  2. FLYWIRE
    Using Flywire (an international payment platform for paying tuition fees), you can pay the fees through a bank transfer to your local bank or by credit cards.

Paying from WITHIN Japan

You can choose one of the following payment methods:

  1. Bank Transfer
  2. Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, AMERICAN EXPRESS, JCB) 
  3. Cash

Note: You will need to come down to the school to make payment at the reception if you choose to pay by cash, credit card or debit card.

Payment / Cancellation Policy

  • All fees must be paid in full to secure a place in the program.
  • No refund will be made for cancellations made after the course has started.
  • Cancellation fees differ depending on cancellation dates (see table on the right).
  • Applicants shall bear all bank transaction fees (during payments and refunds).
  • Lesson(s) may be cancelled due to natural disasters such as typhoons
    and heavy rain. In this case, the cancelled lessons will be substituted with an
    assignments, etc. No refund will be made for cancelled lessons.
