What kind of accommodation do the students usually use?
A

The students who want to experience life in Japan and fully enjoy Japanese culture in a short period of time often do the homestay. Other than the accommodations above, some stay at hotels and apartments.

Homestay

Q
From when can I apply for homestay?
A

Anytime. If it’s very early, we may not be able to confirm your host family immediately, however, we’ll arrange it on a first come first served basis. So please don’t worry.

Q
Can I make a special request?
A

Please be sure to tell us about it when you apply for homestay. We can’t guarantee but will try our best to accommodate it. The health related requests such as preferring a non-smoking family and allergy matters are handled on a priority basis.

A

No at this moment.

Q
What’s the transportation cost like?
A

Tokyo’s transportation facilities are very well developed and convenient, but rather complicated. The cost depends on not only the distance and traveling time, but also the railway company you use. The one month pass is usually 10,000 JPY to 30,000 JPY, but sometimes cheaper and sometimes more expensive. Please confirm the transportation cost written on the information sheet we give to you when we introduce you your host family.

Q
Can I use the Internet at my host family?
A

In principle, it isn’t allowed to use your host family’s PCs. You can use your own PC, but some families don’t have Wi-Fi or a LAN port in your room. Some have time restriction of the net use and some don’t have the net access at all. We have some PCs for students and Wi-Fi at school, but if you want to use the net at home, please give us a request when you apply.

Can my friends stay at my host family?
A

Basically no.
